An Ibadan based Gospel comedian known as Segun Raabi won the best comedian/mc award for his activities throughout the year 2018
The award was presented on the 23rd of December, 2018 at the Carol and Award Night of the Annual Gospel Music Award organized by OD7MUSIC held at Felicia Hall, JOGOR EVENT Center, Ibadan.
“Segun Raabi is a brand that started in church back in August 2012, it wasn’t a good start but in the midst of uncertainty I stood by God’s faithfulness because there was many temptations from colleagues and friends to perform at the club and circular atmosphere. It wasn’t easy because money was not forth coming and there was no clue of hitting the target of reaching out to people.
There was discrimination from some churches at first because they had this impression that all comedians are always saying vulgar language when performing but I chose to stand out of many and depended on God.
I want to dedicate this award to my parent, every churches and organization that believed in me, and every aspiring young gospel comedian out there.
Also I want to appreciate AGMA for this recognition, it’s a milestone in my career and elated with the celebration I got from my people. I pray that this will never end and God will increase you and establish you more in Jesus name” – Segun Raabi
