Topic: Portraits of a genuine worshipper
Text: Revelations 4:5

A genuine worshipper is humble.
A genuine worshipper is always available. Isaiah 6:8.
A genuine worshipper is grateful.
He trusts God completely. It is difficult to worship the God you do not trust.
He has the ability to lay it down

Indifference to reward/ praise of men: he is not moved or bothered by reward. He does not live his life on the praise of others. If you wait for the applause of men, you forfeit God’s approval. He recognizes that he is what he is, has what he has and is able to do what he does by the grace of God. The approval of God gives eternal reward. Don’t let the praise of men get to your head. Revelation 4:5, the 24 elders were not fixated on their crowns and achievement. Some people have gone ahead of God because they allowed the praise of people get into their head. The donkey being ridden must not begin to think the praise and the cheering he hears belongs to it, he must recognize that the praise is for the person riding on it. A genuine worshipper should not feel bad that he is not praised or appreciated by men. He is not serving God for what he can get from the service.

A genuine worshipper practices self effacement: he does not come to the house of God for people to notice what he is wearing. He hides himself so that God can be seen. Luke 22:25-27. There is no limit to what God will do with you if you don’t mind who gets the credit. Continue to sow in your seeds and care less about who gets praised for it. A time of harvest is coming.

Prayers
1. Father, I give up the applause and appreciation of men for your approval.
2. Father, you are the rewarder of those who diligently seek you, I look up to you for reward.
3. Give me the grace to serve and wait on others.
