Topic: The Essence of Easter
Text: Romans 5:12
Sin and death came into the earth by one man, wherever there is sin, there is death, for all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. The wages of sin is death. Genesis 3:15, God left a window of escape for mankind. This was fulfilled during the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus was delivered for our offenses, arrested tried and condemned to death for our transgression and iniquity. He was mocked and spat on for our deliverance, salvation, justification and rescue from death. He died and rose again, he paid the price for our sins. He delivered us from past, present and future sins. We must embrace the finished work of Christ to accept the sacrifice he paid for. We are justified because Jesus died and rose again. Our righteousness cannot justify us, the shedding of the blood of animals could not justify us, we are justified by faith in the resurrected Christ. Hebrews 13: 11-13, we have to go close to Jesus to accept what he has done for us bearing his reproach and accepting an that he did on the cross. We have life through his death and resurrection. His suffering was for our healing and deliverance therefore we are free from sin, Satan, illnesses, and death. Appropriate and enjoy the sacrifice, take the benefits and the blessings of his suffering as we commemorate Easter.
Prayers
1. Father, I thank you for leaving a window of escape for mankind, thank you for laying your life for me, delivering me from sin and death, thank you for bruising the head of the serpent and delivering me from all my offenses.
2. I am delivered from all my offenses, I am justified by his resurrection, I am make whole by His stripes, I have peace because of his chastisement, I appropriate all the blessings and benefits of his death.
3. Lord Jesus, I thank you for coming into the world to die for me, thank you for living your glory to die for me. I am justified by faith, I believe your making intercessions for me and you’re coming back to take back the saints to you in Jesus name.
