Topic: Be an Effective Witness
Text: Isaiah 55:3-4
Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David. Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people.
Your relationship with Jesus is to make you a witness, a leader, commander to the people. Your salvation in Christ Jesus is to make you a witness and a testimony. You are saved to save others. After the baptism of the Holy Spirit, they became witnesses and the Pharisees took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus when they noticed that they were unlearned men. God wants others to see the light through your light. John 1:6-7, God desires you to be a witness to the light hence He said, You are the light of the world and Jesus wants you to testify of this light wherever you find yourself. It is my prayer that men will believe in Jesus through you.
God has made you a witness and a leader. This happens the moment you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and when you get filled with the Holy Spirit. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit makes you an effective witness. Acts 1:8, The primary reason for being filled with the Holy Spirit is not for speaking in tongues but to make you an effective witness. Speaking in tongues is evidence that you are baptized in the Holy Ghost. David was made both a witness and a leader and God wants the same for you. You witness Christ to others through your lifestyle. Let people see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven. Let people see your comportment and your lifestyle, let them hear your words and glorify God. Let your words bear evidence that you have been with Jesus or that you Know Him. You are not expected to type, post, or say anything razz, ungodly, offensive, and unprintable things about Christ or your brothers. You are expected to represent Christ by Your character and the way you show love for others. No witness is identified by his gifts, all witnesses are identified by their fruits. The fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, brotherly kindness, etc. show that you are a genuine witness of Jesus. When was the last time you preached or talked about Jesus to anyone or are you so afraid and ashamed to testify of Jesus? Be a genuine witness of Jesus. You are a replica of David in this world, You are to be a witness and a leader to the people.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, Make me a genuine Christian, let my life genuinely testify Christ to people. Let my life bear witness to the grace and goodness of Christ. let my life produce fruits and bear testimonies that will bring others to Christ.
2. Father in my business and whatever I do, let Christ be seen in me and let Christ be glorified because of me.
3. Father, let my life be fruitful and productive for the Kingdom in the name of Jesus.
