Topic: The window of Escape
Text: Hebrews 4:3

God is a God of wisdom, a God of program and planning. The wisdom of God is infinite and cannot be searched out. Whatever God does, he has finished it before starting it. God does not start what he has not finished. In his wisdom, he has finished everything about our creation, salvation, and redemption from the foundation of the Earth. God knew before the foundation of the world that the enemy would attempt to destroy what he had done and he had made a way of escape for us. 1 Peter 1:18-21, God before the foundation of the World, foreordained Christ Jesus as the window of escape for mankind. That window of escape was opened for us in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world. God will always open a window of escape for mankind.

God knows us from the very beginning. Christ coming into the world with his eventual death and resurrection were all foreordained by God. It was part of the programme of God for the redemption and reconciliation of Man. Genesis 3:15, God put enmity between the serpent and the man. You will bruise his heel, but it will bruise your head. In spite of the sin of man in the Garden of Eden. God made a way of escape. He opened a window of escape for mankind. That window of escape is in the mercy of God that is found in Christ Jesus our Savior. His mercies are new every morning. This mercy is found in Christ Jesus our Savior. When Jesus was born, it was mercy that came into the world, Jesus Christ, the promised seed of the woman. God has left this window open that anyone who will embrace Christ Jesus and accept his finished work will receive the mercy of God and forgiveness for his sin. This must be understood that the only way to foster a good relationship between people is for a window of escape to be left open. The window of mercy should be left open between a husband and his wife. We will always offend against each other but the window of mercy must be left open. Jesus is the window of escape that God has left for anyone who is willing or who would be willing to accept the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Now, how do we accept this finished work?
1. Repentance and forgiveness, 1 John 1:8-9. The scripture says if we say that we have no sin, the truth is not in us and we make God a liar. But if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Sin separated man and God, and it was this same question that Jesus Christ came to answer in his birth. That was the reason why he left his glory in heaven. He came down into this planet, earth to submit himself to be born through a virgin, to be born of a woman in a manger so that he can make provision for us as the window of escape that God has left open for us. So we need repentance, confession of sin. It is genuine repentance that will lead to confession of sin and it is confession of sins that will lead to forgiveness of sin. We must understand this as we embrace Christ Jesus through total repentance and confession of our sins. Admit your faults. Admit your mistakes. This is the way to obtain the mercy of God. If a man refuses to admit his error, there will be no reason for him or her to ask for repentance or forgiveness. Such a person shuts the window of escape by being obstinate. I encourage you, therefore, to be open to confess your faults one to another, to ask and receive forgiveness of sin. Colossians 1:14, we have redemption through his blood.

Prayers
1. Father, I thank you for leaving a window of escape open for me, in spite of my faults and sins. Today, I confess my sins and I ask, oh God, that everything that has broken my fellowship with you be forgiven, and that the power of this sin be totally broken and destroyed in the name of Jesus.
2. Father, I receive the grace to admit my faults and mistakes whenever I am wrong. I receive the grace not to shut the window of mercy, window of escape against myself.
3. Father, Let the purpose for the coming of Christ find expression in my life.
