Topic: Divine Direction
Text: Romans 8:14
Another great need in the life of every believer apart from accepting Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior is divine direction.
How or where do I find direction?
1. The presence of God: Genesis 26:1-2, The moment a man can secure the presence of God in his life, then he begins to enjoy the direction of the Almighty. Isaac was prepared to go look for greener pastures in Egypt. Everybody was leaving the country because of the hardship, the Lord appeared unto him, and the presence of God with Isaac made a difference for him. God showed up to Isaac, and God gave an instruction that altered the course of his life. It is my prayer that you will journey with God throughout this year, that the presence of God with you will set things right in your life and in your destiny, and that you won’t make any mistakes. You will not follow the multitude to do what is wrong. You will not do anything because others are also doing it. You will be guided by God. When Moses was leaving the land of Egypt, he cried for the presence of the Lord. Exodus 33:15, 14.
2. The word of God. In Proverbs 6:20-23, If you want to be divinely directed, then saturate your life with the word of God. Familiarize yourself with the words of the Almighty. Don’t be a stranger to God’s word. Be a student of the Bible. Be a student of the word of God. That is where you find direction. That is where you find the guidance. We are guided by the word of the Lord. We are led by the dictates of the scriptures. A man that will find direction for his life and not be lost is a man that is given to the study of the word of God, a man that meditates on the word of God by day and night. 2 Timothy 3:14-16, If you must be guided and directed this year, you need the instruction of the word of God. The closer you are to the word of God, the clearer your path will be because the word of God is a light and it is a lamp. The word of God is there to correct you when you are wrong to reprove you, to give you instruction in righteousness. Esteem, the word of God more than your necessary meat.
3. The spirit of God. Romans 8:14. We are guided by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost teaches us the path to choose. He teaches us the way to go. He reminds us of the things we have learned. A friend with the Holy Spirit is the man who will be guided by the spirit of God. He will not lose any battle in this generation and age.
Prayers
1. Father, let your presence be with me. Let your presence guide me. Let your presence show me where to go and what to do. 2. Father, give me an understanding of your word. And let me be guided by your word. Let me be instructed by your word, and let me profit from your word.
3. Holy Spirit Divine, I surrender to you, to your leadership. Guide me into all truth. Lead me in the path that I should go. I desire to be led by you. Help me to be sensitive to your voice. Let me hear when you speak. Let me not be dull to your voice. Let my eyes be open to your instructions. Let my ears be open to your directions in the name of Jesus.
