Topic: Death to Life
Text: Romans 5:12
Sin entered into the world through one man with death as its consequence. Romans 3:23, we all sinned in the loins of Adam and the wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23. Sin was transferred to all men through Adam. Sin gave birth to death and death was passed to all men. Christ Jesus took death upon himself and liberated us. Genesis 2:16-17, man was created and designed with immortality but sin brought death.
4 Dimensions of Death
1. Loss of fellowship with God. Sin breaks fellowship with God. You are dead if you do not have fellowship with God, Genesis 3:8, 24, Adam died spiritually. Loss of fellowship leads to spiritual death.
2. Physical death. Genesis 3:19, the sentence of death came on man when sin crept into the world. No matter how long a man lives here on earth, he will still die.
3. The living dead. Such a man is living but dead, merely existing but not living, a state of irrelevance. He has no results. There’s nothing meaningful or impactful about their lives.
4. The second death. Revelation 20:11-15. This is exclusive to those whose names are not found in the book of life.
We have passed from death to life through the sacrifice Christ made on the cross of Calvary. Let this be your confession, WE HAVE PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE.
Prayers
1. Thank Jesus who died for your sin and rose for your justification.
2. Father, let my fellowship with you not be broken and if broken, restore me to fellowship with you.
3. Father, let me enjoy life abundantly. I receive the abundant life of God in every area of my life.
4. Thank God because your name is in the book of life and there’s no part in the second death for you.
