Topic: Death to Life Cont’d
Text: 1 John 3:14
We pass from death to life by believing in the name of Jesus, this is the only way to be saved. We passed from death to life by hearing the word of God and believing in the one who sent the word.
3. Love: love is central and it is the motivation for the coming of Jesus Christ into the world to redeem mankind. He loved us when we were unlovable. God loved us and he gave to us. God is love. Whoever claims to be in God and does not love his brother, abides in death. There’s no life for anyone who does not love. You abide in death if you keep malice or wish for evil towards anyone. 1 Corinthians 13:1, absence of love is emptiness. Love suffers long, love is kind, love is not puffed up, it does not behave unruly, love is not easily provoked, it does not think evil, it bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things, and does not keep a record of wrong doing. We are expected to possess the God kind of love, people who have this kind of love have passed from death to life. Drop all hatred, wrath and bitterness. Abide in love. Love forgives and gives allowance for the mistakes of others. Jesus loved us and He left his glory in heaven to come to earth to die for mankind. Love enables us to preach the gospel to others. We know we have passed from death to life because we love the brethren.
4. Christ’s Resurrection: Christ rose from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15: 14,20. Our faith is alive because Christ rose from the dead. Our hope, faith and preaching are not in vain because Christ rose from the dead.
Prayers
1. Father, I receive the grace to love the brethren, help me to abide in love and not hatred. I destroy every seed of bitterness in my life.
2. I have passed from death to life because Christ rose from the dead. I thank you for the Resurrection power that rose Jesus from the dead.
3. I command everything dead in my life and destiny to come alive in the name of Jesus. I have passed from death to life and everything dead around me receives the life of God in the name of Jesus.
