Topic: I am more than this (Catalysts for Change)
Text: Mark 10:46-52

You are more than your background, you’re more than what you look like now, you’re more than what you’re going through, you’re more than your experience, you’re more than your present level, the challenges of life, the difficulties, the weaknesses of your life and destiny.

Catalysts For Change
Change becomes inevitable when situations are unfavorable. Bartimaeus was not named blind at birth but he was called Blind Bartimaeus because of his situation. He became stigmatized because of his condition. You can provoke your change and refuse your situation.
1. Dissatisfaction with the status quo: until dissatisfaction sets in, there might be no change. Dissatisfaction gives rise to the statement “I am more than this”. Genesis 27:40, it is your responsibility to initiate the change your life needs when you can’t take it anymore, when you become restless and tired of your present situation. What you permit, persists.
2. A desire for change: this is a desire to get better. God answers desires, Psalm 78:29, Psalm 145:16. There must be an expression of a strong desire for change in your prayers and what you do to experience a change.
3. Desperation: Blind Bartimaeus was desperate for a change and he shouted the more they tried to silence him. A desperate man will not let anything stop him till he reaches his goal.
3. Dropping: Blind Bartimaeus dropped the garment that could have hindered him from getting to Christ Jesus.

Prayers
1. Father, I am more than this, I refuse to remain like this. Let me change happen by the power of your spirit.
2. My father, open your hands to me, satisfy my desires….
3. Father, let my change and transformation happen. I counted any power trying to frustrate your purpose for my life.
