Topic: Access to Rest
Text: Numbers 13:30-33
God has promised to give us rest. Access to rest could be denied due to unbelief, Hebrews 4:6. certain areas of unbelief deny people access to their rest.
1. Unbelief in God
2. Unbelief in the gospel of Christ
3. Unbelief in the word of God: the word of God is a catalyst for Miracles. It is the key that makes things happen. The word of God is profitable.
4. Unbelief in yourself: If you don’t believe in yourself and the grace God has bestowed upon you, you may never be able to enter into your rest. You must believe in the ability of God on your inside. You must believe that you are more than what you look like. You are more than your present state or condition.
Numbers 13:30-33. The men sent to spy the land God had promised the Children of Israel came back with a report of the Land just as God had described the land but 10 of them also had a negative report attached to what God had promised. They wrote themselves off as not being able to defeat the giants they saw and concluded that they were like grasshoppers in the eyes of the inhabitants of the land. They demonstrated unbelief in God, the word of God, and total unbelief in themselves. 2 other spies distinguished themselves from the 10, they had only good reports. They demonstrated faith and strong belief in God, His word, and themselves. The people went with the report of the other 10 spies. Everyone got what they said and believed. Those on the side of the 10 spies did not enter the promised land but the other 2 who believed they were able entered into the promised land. Believe in the grace and ability of God in your life. Believe in the talents that God has bestowed on you. Do not behave like the servant with one talent who dug the ground and buried his talent in the earth rather than trade with it. You are more than your present condition or situation. Believe in the word of God and you will be established, believe in the prophet and you will prosper. It would be difficult to believe in yourself without believing in the word of God. The word of God reflects who you are and should be. The promises of God are embedded in His word likewise the things God has prepared for you. Step out and do the things God declared you are able to do.
Prayers
1. Father, I believe in your ability and deposits in my life, I am well able to be all that you have ordained me to be.
2. Father, I cast away every grasshopper, mediocre, toxic, incapability, and smallness mentality out of my life in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, I receive courage, faith, and strength in the word of God, I believe in God and in His word, I press on and possess my possession, I enter into my rest.
