Topic: The God we worship (The God of Peace)
Text: Romans 15:33, Philippians 4:9
Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen Romans 15:33
The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9
God is the God of Peace. This can be seen in the texts for today. Peace is what a man needs for progress and advancement in his life and destiny. A man who lacks peace would find it difficult to make progress or even sleep. Such a man is weak and feeble. Peace is a catalyst for progress and advancement. Job 22:21, Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you. The way to get peace is to get acquainted with God.
Peace is a major characteristic of the kingdom of God as seen in Romans 14:17, for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost are elements or characteristics of the Kingdom of God. A man in God’s kingdom lives in righteousness, peace, and joy irrespective of what happens around him. These characteristics are a kingdom blessing for whosoever belongs to the fold of God’s kingdom. When a man acknowledges Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, he receives peace that passes all understanding. He also receives joy and righteousness is immediately input to him and he becomes the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 29:11, The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.
Peace is a blessing that comes from God. When you receive this blessing, your strength is intact because you have peace with God and yourself as well. Peace is essential and proof that you are part of God’s kingdom. Do not lose your peace with God. Resist the urge to do anything that would withdraw your peace with God. If you lose your peace, you lose your strength from God, confidence in God, spiritual strength, and stamina.
The beneficiaries of peace are those acquainted with God. They are those whose mind is stayed on God. Isaiah 26:3, You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
When a man’s mind is fixed on God, he is in perfect peace. The three Hebrew boys were in perfect peace despite confrontation with the fiery furnace, despite the seven times increase in the degree of hotness of the fire, they kept their calm and peace because their heart was fixed on God. Psalm 119:165. Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.
You are kept in peace when you keep and love the Law of God. Delight yourself in God’s law and His word. You must also follow peace with all men. God expects you to have peace with Him, with the people around you, and with yourself.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, Bless me with your peace and keep me in perfect peace.
2. O God of peace, keep me in perfect peace and let me not be troubled in anything in the name of Jesus
3. Declare: I am connected to the God of peace therefore, I will not be troubled, I will not be offended.
4. Father, Let everything troubling my life and destiny, Let every issue disturbing my peace receive a divine solution in the name of Jesus.
