Totori is a Pidgin English word that means to tickle or excite. “And That is what the name Jesus does to me,” says Mike Aremu about the inspiration behind the song.
The song is a mid-tempo infusion of Afrobeat and Jazz with Mike’s unique voice, his signature sound of the tenor sax, and soulfully graced by the sonorous voice of Victor Thompson.
Totori was produced by King Mike himself with contributions from Michael Oyo, White Block, and Tbabz. Mixed/Mastered at Mixsurgery Sound Lab UK by Lifted Omlamb. Other credits include guitar by Segzmonte and bass by Dolapo Ikusika
Mike Aremu is one of the front runners of world-class saxophone players whose music transcends class, age, and race, but what sets this distinguished musician apart is his ability to draw from traditional Nigerian sounds to create sounds that represent both his creative passion and his culture.
