Topic: The Power of Separation

God many times needs you to separate yourself from certain things, forces, and people so that His purpose, and counsel might find fulfillment and expression in your life. God is not limited by place, sometimes he wants you to live the place that you are at the moment and go to a better place. God cannot be limited by anybody yet he wants you to separate yourself from certain persons who are not relevant to your journey in life and destiny, Lot was not relevant to Abraham’s journey and ultimate fulfillment. Unfortunately, Abraham carried Lot along with him, but it came to a point when Abraham knew there had to be a separation between him and Lot and Abraham separated from Lot. No sooner had he separated himself from Lot that God showed up and gave him an instruction and a vision that would ultimately advance him. Joseph had to be separated. He had all the comfort he needed in his father’s house but God needed him out to his place of destiny fulfillment. Beware of comfort. Don’t allow comfort to be an enemy of your greatness in life and destiny.

Sometimes those who are familiar with your life, destiny, background, and story might be the ones who will kill your dream before it matures. Therefore, God might need you to be separated from them. Psalm 105:16-22, the fulfillment of Joseph’s dream wouldn’t have happened if he remained seated and glued to his father’s apron, wearing his coat of many colours. The brothers of Joseph sold him, but as far as God was concerned, He was sending him. Maybe somebody or some people are selling you. Why don’t you see it as God sending you? Maybe they hate you and are fighting against you. See it as God advancing you, pushing you forward so you can better fulfill his will and counsel for your life and your destiny Joseph had to be separated, willingly or forcefully. For Abraham, it was willingly, but for Joseph, it was not a willing separation. But he, Joseph had to be separated.

Samuel: 1 Samuel 2:12,17,18 Samuel grew up with the sons of Eli. They were much older than he was and children learn by observation. There was a great destiny upon Samuel, God was going to use him to accomplish a great thing or greater things. Samuel needed to separate himself, which he did. The Bible says the sins of the young men (sons of Eli) were very great before God. The next verse said, “But Samuel ministered before the Lord”. Samuel separated himself from the sins of the young men. There are certain things, habits, and attitudes, that are peculiar to young people, particularly this generation, this social media generation, if you want to stand out and make a difference in your generation, you must separate yourself from the sins of the young men. Don’t join them to do what is bad. Don’t allow your peers to influence you to do negative things. It was God who rescued some of us from the influence and pressures of our peers and environment, young men in our places of upbringing who introduced us to so many vices. Many of us were introduced to smoking, alcoholism, drug addiction, and all kinds of evil. If you must stand out from your background, separation is a necessity. Stand out, and make a difference in your generation. This will be possible in your life if you are willing and ready to separate yourself from the negatives of the now. I charge you to separate yourself. God has so much to do with your life and with your destiny, but he needs you to separate yourself so you can fulfill His purpose for your life and your destiny.
