Topic: The prayer of Jabez
Text: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
A quick look at the genealogy of Jabez revealed that the bible did not say anything significant about anyone in his lineage. They all just got married, gave birth to children, and died. Jabez called on God. He suffered as a result of the negative name he was called by his mother. He was a sorrowful man from a negative history. Jabez did not accept his condition as final. The situation of your life at the moment is not your conclusion. Your case has not been closed, this is not your end.
You must act like Jabez and pray. He called on the God of Israel. You must have a covenant relationship with the God of Israel through Jesus to be able to call on Him. Where do you go when you face critical conditions in your life? Who is your prophet and who is your God? Some people carry their gods all around in their bags, and pockets however, we do not carry our God around, rather He carries us around.
Jabez prayed for the blessings. These blessings have nothing to do with gifts but who you become. The blessings make rich and add no sorrow. Blessing is an empowerment to succeed and a curse is an empowerment to fail. When God blesses a man everything around him turns around. May God bless you indeed. Jabez also prayed for his coast to be enlarged. You need an enlargement. You cannot afford to be in the same spot for long because life is not static and so are people. May God increase your greatness and comfort you on every side. Your business, territory, family, and finances will be divinely enlarged.
Jabez prayed for the hands of God upon his life, The hands of God on a man’s life guarantees speed and success, 1 Kings 18:46. May the hand of the Lord be with you. Jabez prayed that he would be kept from evil. May God keep you from evil. You need to be kept from evil when you are blessed and your territory has been enlarged. The hand of the Lord upon you is also for protection. Deuteronomy 33:27. Jabez prayed that it would not grieve him in life and destiny and God granted all his requests. May God grant your requests in Jesus’ name. Amen.

2. Father, enlarge my territory, business, family, and influence in the mighty name of Jesus.
3. Father, let your hand be upon me for good, speed, success, prosperity, and blessings.
4. Father, Keep me from evil, keep my blessings, territory, and children from evil.
5. Father, let it not grieve me, and let my children not cause me pain in the name of Jesus. Amen.
