Topic: Destroying the weapons of war
Text: Psalm 46:9
We have considered the first part of the scripture in focus, we will be dwelling on the second part that says “He breaks the bows and cuts the spear in 2, he burns the chariots in fire”. There can be no war without weapons. The strength of your war(s) is determined by the fierceness of the weapons employed. Where weapons are destroyed wars are ended because weapons are crucial to wars.
1st Samuel 13:19-23
The Philistines ensured the children of Israel had no weapons in battle. To win your war, you must ensure that your enemies do not have any weapons. Any time God is set to put an end to war, He destroys the weapons of the enemies. We do not talk about bows, spears, and chariots today but there are massive weapons of war the enemies employ in our present day. The missiles, Ak7, and atomic and nuclear bombs are used in today’s world for physical battles. What about spiritual battles?
Job 29:17, God broke the jaws of the wicked and plucked the spoil out of his teeth. The jaws was the instrument of war in this scripture. Psalm 58:6, the teeth is also a weapon used by the enemies but God will destroy their teeth totally.
1. Evil altars: these are platforms raised by the enemies to attack lives and destinies. Whenever any one places a sacrifice at any place, it becomes an altar. A certain man bought a land with all the legal documents in place but he had contenders without documents. They raised an altar against him by raising sacrifices and placed it at different junctions and the gate of that property. 1st Kings 13:5. By the word of the Lord, every evil altar raised against your life and destiny shall break in pieces.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, destroy the weapons of war that the adversaries are using against my life and destiny. Let these weapons be destroyed that progress may be possible in my life.
2. Father, every evil altar raised against my life, destiny and children, scatter by fire in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, turn the weapons of the enemies against them. Let the arrows go back to sender.
