Topic: Intercession and supplication
Text: 1st Chronicles 4:9-10

We started looking at the importance of prayers yesterday, how prayers can affect our lives and destinies, and how prayers open the heavens and doors. We continue today with a focus on 1st Chronicles 4:9-10.

Prayer changes situations. There was a situation in the family of Jabez, no one made a significant impact beyond getting married, having children, and dying Jabez desired a change, he desired a difference so he called on God for a difference. God turned his situation around. His mother named him Sorrow and he carried the name about. He was reminded of his situation each time his name was called. Most times people call you names based on the situation you are going through eg barren, impotent, etc. God is the situation-changing God and He doesn’t just step into situations without invitation. He comes in at the instant of an invitation. Call upon God, and cry out like Jabez. Mark 10:46-52, Blind Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus for mercy. He had no knowledge that Jesus was passing the place he sat to beg for the last time, he wanted the negative stigma attached to him to be removed. He got the attention of Jesus as He cried and his situation was Changed.

I plead with you, take time to pray in this season. No one can pray for you like you. May the Lord release upon you the spirit of grace and supplication to pray till you see your situation changed.

Like Jabez prayed, I pray for you that the God of heaven will bless you indeed. The blessings of the Lord makes a man rich and does not add any sorrow. Jabez desired THE blessing of God which is a divine empowerment for prosperity. It’s your responsibility to refuse to carry on the negatives of your parents house. God will bless you indeed and make you a blessing. He will make your name great.

Jabez did not stop at THE blessing, he asked for enlargement. He refused to remain small in life. I pray that there shall be divine enlargement of your coast. He also prayed for the hand of God will be with him. The hand of God is the hand of victory. He also prayed that God will keep him from evil that he will not cause grieve. The most remarkable happening in this scripture is that God granted him all he requested for. God will grant you every request you ask of Him.

Matthew 7:7-8, I see your situation change for good in this second half of the year.

Prayer Focus
1. Father, let my situation change for good and for glory in the name of Jesus.
2. Father, let heavens remain permanently open over my life and destiny.
3. Father, let closed doors and gates open for me, let my iron doors open in the name of Jesus.
