Areas of Focus that Determine the Extent of Achievement in Life
1. Looking back.
2. Looking around
3. Looking at yourself
4. Looking at another human being: Looking at people gives birth to disappointment. To avoid depression, do not focus on man for help. The person you focus on also looks up to another who looks up to another and the chain continues. Psalm 60:11, 2 Kings 6:26-27. If the Lord does not help you, then no man is capable of helping you except God empowers him to help you. Every man at his best disappoints.  A cry to another man is a cry in the wrong direction. Jeremiah 17:5, Vain is the help of man. Jeremiah 17:5-6, A man who puts his trust in another man will not see when good comes. Don’t build a future on another man. John 2:24. Do not commit yourself to another man, give room for disappointment, letting down and betrayal.
5. Looking up: Psalm 121:1-2, faith looks up, this is the best alternative. You cannot look up and not go up. Hebrews 12:2, Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, let your gaze be on Jesus. Job fixed his gaze on God despite his afflictions, Job 13:15, Job 19:25. Set your face like a flint on the Lord.

Prayers
1. Father, I take my gaze away from men, give me help in trouble for vain is the help of man,
2. Father, my help comes from only you, my eyes are on you, send me help in trouble.
3. Father, I look past my circumstances, troubles, self and other humans, come through for me in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 121:1-8

[1] I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. [2] My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth. [3] He will not suffer my foot to be moved: He that keepeth me will not slumber. [4] Behold, he that keepeth me Shall neither slumber nor sleep. [5] The LORD is my keeper: The LORD is my shade upon my right hand. [6] The sun shall not smite me by day, Nor the moon by night. [7] The LORD shall preserve me from all evil: He shall preserve my soul. [8] The LORD shall preserve my going out and my coming in From this time forth, and even for evermore.
