Topic: Importance of the secret place
Text: Psalm 91
The secret place is essential. It is the place of meeting between man and his Creator. When man was created and planted in the Garden of Eden, God always came down for fellowship with man. God wanted man to relate with Him and he wanted man to show dependence on Him, this made Him come down to fellowship with man till sin crept in through Adam and Eve. God still desires fellowship, particularly in the place of prayers. He wants us to raise a prayer altar of dependency. It’s a place of power and protection.
1. You can dwell in the secret place. Psalm 91:1. To excel in life you either belong to a secret cult or dwell in the secret place. It is a place of worship,
Matthew 4:8. The devil craves worship whereas God created us to worship him. Isaiah 43:21. The devil offers success to people in secret cults if only they will fall down to worship him. Choose to worship God alone.
2. God makes His men in the secret place. If you want to be made, make a prayer altar and dwell in the secret place. Gen 32:24. Jesus was made in the secret place. Mark 1:35. Every man of destiny must have a premium place and time where he meets with God. Jacob was left alone in secret away from the crowd and God made Him likewise Jesus. Daniel 6:10, Daniel was not hurt by the lions because he was a man of the secret place. The Altar of prayer he raised before he was thrown into the lion’s den delivered him from the jaws of the lion.
3. Prayer is the doorway to the supernatural. If you must experience the supernatural, you must spend time in the secret place alone with God where He reveals secrets beyond the natural to His men.
4. A man who does not know God’s presence will be a slave to fear. There are so many things that can enslave a man or cause a man to be dominated by fear but a man who abides in God’s presence will not live in fear. Fear is antithetical to the Presence of God. They are 2 parallel lines that do not meet. Psalm 46:1-2.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, let your fire upon my place of prayer burn continually. Let my prayer fire never go out.
2. O God, Thou maker of men, mould me, make me in the place of prayer. Reveal your secrets to me. I am willing to be made after Your will.
3. Father, let your presence accompany me always and let me be far from fear.
4. Father, let your presence in my life attract good things to my life and destiny
