Topic: The portraits of a genuine worshipper
Text: Revelations 4:4
Hallmark of a genuine worshipper.
A genuine worshipper is humble.
A genuine worshipper is always available. Isaiah 6:8.
A genuine worshipper is grateful.
He trusts God completely. It is difficult to worship the God you do not trust.
The ability to lay it down: Jesus laid down his life in an act of worship though he had the power to lay it down or pick it up again. Revelation 4:4, the 24 elders have their crowns on but they lay it down in worship. A genuine worshipper must be able to pay down his crowns, laurels and achievement to worship God. John 10:17-18, don’t be too arrogant or proud to lay down whatever you have. Always remember that there’s always someone who has achieved more than you have, you must be willing to pay down your achievements as a true worshipper. Proverbs 3:9-10, honour God with your substance. Lay down your life, wealth, position etc. there’s nothing a true worshipper cannot lay down in the worship of God. Nehemiah 3:5, didn’t be too noble to serve the Lord your God. Get involved, serve the Lord, lay it down.
