Topic: My sheaf must arise (Factors that make a man’s sheaf arise)
Text: Genesis 37:3&4

Joseph shared his dream with his brothers. Your sheaf is your individual life, your career, your calling and your destiny. The field is the world we are in which could represent your business, family, profession, and the environment you were brought up in. Remember that it is not every sheaf that will arise. We have considered several factors that make it impossible for a sheaf to arise. This morning we want to ask a question, what can make a man’s sheaf arise and stand upright?

The favour factor. Genesis 37:3&4
Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons because he had been born to him in his old age, and he made an ornate robe for him. When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him. (NIV). The emphasis is on verse 3. This implies favour. Joseph was favoured above the 11 sons of his father and he got a coat of many colours. Favour is a major factor that causes a man’s destiny to arise and stand upright. Everyone needs a favour. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favour to her; the appointed time has come. Psalms 102:13. The appointed time for a man to be favoured is the time his sheaf arises. You must be favoured by God and by men. Favour is critical in arriving at the place of your divine destiny.

No one can succeed or make it outside of favour. My Prayer is that your life and destiny will not lack the favour of the Almighty in the Precious name of Jesus.  Favour is very essential. It is the vehicle that makes a man’s journey to destiny very fast and smooth. Romans 9:10-16: Not only that but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—so that God’s purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger. ”Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated. What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. ”It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.

You must therefore understand that God’s mercy does not rule out your effort, this scripture means that your success is not dependent on your effort but on God’s mercy. Your effort is necessary if you must be elevated or lifted. If your sheaf must arise, you must do something about your life. You cannot expect to sit down and expect grace to do it for you. Having done all, you must also depend on the mercy of God and not on your ability. May you not lack the favour of God.

What is this favour?
Favour is God’s vehicle for man’s speedy arrival at destiny. God has prepared a vehicle that will take you to your place in destiny. It is God’s unmerited blessings upon the life of a man. We wouldn’t know why Jacob gave Joseph a coat of many colours. It was a gift, maybe he didn’t deserve it or do anything to earn it, but got it because his father just loved him. Favour is the divine current that takes you from a present season to your future dream. It takes you from where you are to the place you desire that God wants you to be. Joseph found favour everywhere he found himself. Favour takes a man whom he ordinarily does not belong. Get set for a favour. It will take you to heights you do not deserve or imagine. Favour gives you what you don’t deserve. 2nd Samuel 1:9: David asked, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake? Mephibosheth got what he did not deserve. Favour emphasizes your strength and de-emphasizes your weakness.
