So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the Tabernacle of the Lord. And she was in bitterness of soul and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. Then they rose early in the morning and worshipped before the Lord, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her.
Hannah had gone to Shiloh every year with her husband and was trusting God for the fruit of the womb. Hannah had prayed every year at the convention. Hannah was always praying. But this particular year, Hannah prayed again. Her voice was not heard. The priest thought she was drunk but she replied that she was only pouring out her heart to God. The priest replied that the Lord will grant her according to her desire and petition, Hannah returned home with a change of countenance. She was no longer sad. Elkanah, Hannah’s husband knew her and God remembered her, Hannah became pregnant because God remembered her. And so I concluded that things happen in your life because you are divinely remembered.
If a man is not remembered, he continues to languish in his situation. Don’t forget Joseph. Joseph was not remembered by the butler. So he continued two more years in prison until the Lord remembered Joseph and the Lord touched the heart of the butler to remember him. The butler said, oh, I remember my fault today, I had forgotten a young man in prison. Now I remember him. God will cause those whom he had prepared to help you, to assist you, to remember you. Somebody you have helped, assisted, or worked for many years ago, will remember you and reach out to you. It is God answering your prayers by way of divine remembrance, compelling people to remember you and assist you, remembering your situation, and bringing about a change as it happened for Hannah.
If you want God to remember you, what are the things that God will remember?
2. He will remember your seed and your sacrifice. In Psalm 20:3, the word of God says the Lord will remember your sacrifice and your seed. He said, May he remember all your offerings and accept all your burnt sacrifice. God remembers your seed, your offering, and your sacrifice. That’s why Paul told us in Galatians 6:7, that do not be deceived. God is not mocked. He cannot be mocked for whatever a man sows that he will also reap. So God remembers your seed, your offering, and your sacrifice. You won’t do that in vain. Your offering is never in vain. Your sacrifice is never in vain. God remembers and He will remember and give you a bountiful harvest, whatever a man sows, that also he will reap.
And he began to mention his services to God. He produced his cause for why God should remember and turn things around. What will God remember about you? Do you have any service or services that God should remember?
Faithfulness does not seem to pay at first, but it pays at last. Have you been employed to work somewhere? Be faithful where you are working. Do you serve under a master? Under a leader? Be faithful under that leader.
Unfaithfulness is cancer that robs a man of his blessings and that shuts the ears of God to the prayers of a man. Daniel was faithful so much that even when he was thrown into the lions, then the faithfulness of Daniel to God and the kingdom and the King spoke on his behalf and the lions could do him no
harm. Remember what Daniel told the king since no fault was found in me, and God has found me faithful, so he has sent his angel else to shut them out of the lions. Be faithful. God remembers your faithfulness.
5. God remembers your labour and your efforts. They will not be in vain. God remembers all your labours and all your efforts in this kingdom. Your labour, the works of your hands will never be in vain. What do you do that you want God to remember to bless your labour? Your efforts will be remembered.
