Topic: Provoking your change
Text: Acts 12:6
The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. Acts 12:6
A lot of people are sleeping like Peter when they should be initiating an action to bring about their desired change. The Blessing/Breath of God on zero effort of a man will produce no results. The expectation of your Herod for your prison experience is to see that you die in that situation. Their desires will be made manifest if you sleep in that situation or do nothing to liberate yourself. What a man permits will persist. you can initiate your change. What should Peter have done to change his story?
-Initiate the change for your situation: Thank God for the church that interceded on behalf of the sleeping Peter. People are more bordered and concerned about their personal challenges to be thinking about that of someone else. The situation of the world, particularly that of our Country, Nigeria is such that people are more fixated about the issues of their life to begin to think of praying about another man’s situation. Life is a personal adventure.
If you don’t take responsibility for your change, nobody will do it for you. Paul and Silas were in a similar situation with Peter, rather than surrendering to fate, they initiated their change. At midnight, they sang praises and prayed to God and the prisoners heard them. Acts 16:26. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. Their action resulted in a sudden earthquake which caused their chains to be broken and doors to be open. The change was extended to other prisoners as well. Prayer and praise produces power that breaks a man’s change and opens prison doors. You do not have to remain quiet in your situation. You can change the situation like Paul and Silas. Every visitation of God is at the instant/invitation of man. He will hear and answer you when you call on Him. Jeremiah 3:33. ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jabez did not wait for any body to provoke his change. Blind Bartimaeus did not wait for anyone to take him to Jesus, He cried out himself. He ran to Jesus as well. The foundation of your problems is about to shake. I see all your bounds loose and doors open.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, let all the foundations of my prison situation break totally in the name of Jesus.
2. Father let all my doors open for me. Let all the doors i have been knocking open for me, make new doors also open for me in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, Open my eyes and heart to see and to know the right thing to do for my change to happen in the name of Jesus.
4. Father, let me not be delivered to the will of my enemies, let me not walk into the trap the enemies have set for me in the name of Jesus.
5. Father, let everyone one waiting for me to fail, fail woefully in the name of Jesus. Everyone waiting for me to die, die in my place. Everyone expecting me to fall, fall flat.
6. Begin to Prophesy the change of your situation. I prophesy the change of my situation and circumstances in the name of Jesus. I am moved from failure to success, from prison to freedom, barrenness to fruitfulness. I decree the change of my situation by the power of the living God and so shall it be in the name of Jesus.
