Hindrances of Elevation – Zechariah 3:1-4
Elevation is God’s desire and will for man’s destiny, the bible says “promotion doesn’t come from anywhere but God is the judge, he puts one down and lifts another” Ps 75:6-7.
So it’s clear that elevation comes from God, no man can promote or elevate himself, it is dependent on God, he is the judge and the determinant factor for elevation, but You must understand that every man has a role, a part to play in the development of his life and destiny, in his elevation in life. Do not forget, nobody can put a limit on your life without your permission, you cannot fail in life without your cooperation neither can you succeed without your participation.
There are certain things a man must do to get elevated, and there are certain forces that do not want a man to get elevated, we have seen satan as the chief architect, or the opposition to the elevation of a man, he uses sicknesses, diseases, and so on. Other things satan are evident in our bible passage, we can see Joshua the high priest here, a man who had a standing before the almighty God, he had recognition with God, but satan stood to resist him because he was clothed with filthy garment, and so there was no way he could be elevated because he wore a filthy garment. Ditto for everyone of us, God is interested in our elevation, but in order to prevent our elevation, the enemy uses our flesh to prevent us, he uses sin to prevent us.
The devil does not trap a man, except with what he loves, be it alcohol, sex, money, sin and so on.
Don’t you forget, “the sin is not in the BAIT, it is in the BITE, when the devil presents a temptation to you, it is an invitation for you to bite the bait, you have not sinned if you don’t bite”
