Topic: The Breaking Point
Text: 1 Kings 19:1-4

I am better than my father. Elijah got to his breaking point after a major revival. He called down the fire of the Lord and people who were oscillating around Baal proclaimed “The Lord is God”. God orchestrated this revival through the Prophet Elijah. He also brought down rain after three and a half years of drought. Queen Jezebel heard what Elijah had done, she threatened and Elijah ran for his life and broke down. The breaking point is the point where a man loses all strength, courage and confidence to win. Elijah became suicidal and he confessed he was not better than his father, what an unfortunate confession. Regardless of what happens in your life and destiny, God’s counsel is that you’ll be better than your father. You will be better than your father, your place of birth and upbringing in Jesus name.

It’s possible for a man to get to a point of despair and despondency after a major revival and feat. We must be careful not to allow the enemy sneak in and make us be in despair and become suicidal. Every victory won exposes you to a greater level of temptation. New level, new devil. Guard your heart jealously, the devil is seeking for where to strike after that major victory and revival. The goal of the devil is to make you see God as unfaithful and to completely discourage you and make you lose your confidence in God’s ability to save, deliver and help you. Elijah forgot all that God has done through him and for him in the past. He failed to recall God’s faithfulness in the past. Surround yourself with good association who will encourage you in the Lord when you’re approaching your breaking point. Understand and believe that despite your despair, you’ll still see the goodness of the Lord, Psalm 27:13.  Remain confident that you’ll see the goodness of God. Don’t give up, don’t become suicidal. The sufferings of these present times are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in you, Romans 8:18.

Prayer Focus
1. I refuse to break down at the point of breakthrough.
2. Any power or force that wants to chase or pursue me from my place of breakthrough, glory and business, be consumed by fire in the name of Jesus. I refuse to be moved.
3. I am better than my fathers, what stopped my father will not stop me, what limited my father will not limit me, I AM BETTER THAN MY FATHERS.
