Topic: Thriving in your Assignment
Text: Colossians 1:1-2
Paul was sent on a special assignment, He succeeded excellently despite not seeing Jesus physically or being taught by Jesus directly because he recognized his special assignment after his encounter with Jesus on his way to Damascus. He gave his all to the assignment. You must understand your specific assignment and follow through with it wholeheartedly. An apostle is one specially sent or commissioned for an assignment.
Paul declared he was an apostle by the will of God. No one thrives outside the will of God. Being in the center of the will of God is a major criterion required for anyone to thrive and progress. This cuts across all areas of life. The will of God in the life of a man prospers. Paul succeeded because he was in God’s will. Paul changed his focus to the recipients of his letter, the saints and followers of Christ. You are a follower and a saint of Christ if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour because of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:21, we have been put right with God by Christ Jesus.
Paul’s letter was addressed to faithful brethren. You must be faithful in your calling and assignment. Proverbs 20:6, How faithful are you?
Prayers
1. Father, give me a clear understanding of my assignment and help me to remain in the center of your will.
2. Father, let me be found in the center of your will in every aspect of my life
3. Father, help me remain a strong and committed follower of Christ, and let me be found faithful in you
4. Father, let all that I do prosper as I remain in your will, let what I do prosper. Let what I do produce results in the name of Jesus.
5. Father, let there be a divine turnaround in the affairs of this nation. Bring an end to the hardship and the adversity of this present time
