Topic: Sleeping in the storm
Text: 2 Corinthians 4:8-10, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Requirements for sleeping in the storm.
1. Have Jesus in your life.
2. A solid foundation
3. You can sleep in your storm if you have a dream. Hebrews 12:2, A dream is a mental picture of your actual future. This picture keeps you motivated. Peter and the apostles endured the sufferings and the storm because they expected the manifestation of the life of Jesus Christ in them. Paul said our light afflictions are working for us a greater weight of glory, not looking at the things that can be seen at the moment because they are temporal. Jesus had a dream thus he endured the cross, he endured the cross because of the joy that was set before him. Jesus knew and understood his purpose, He knew that nothing can kill a man of purpose until purpose is achieved or dream is fulfilled. A man with a dream will wither all storms. You will get to your destination in the name of Jesus.
4. You must be a man of faith: Romans 4:20, Abraham was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, his faith did not waver. You can face life’s vicissitudes by faith. Faith is the assurance that it will happen, that You will get there. Faith is judging God faithful. Faith can move mountains and still the storms of life. Abraham did not consider that he was old, he did not consider that Sarah’s womb was deadened. He had a strong faith. A man with strong faith never allows a situation to overwhelm him. He places his focus on God. Let your faith in God be strong and keep your dreams.
Prayer
1. Father, let my dreams speak, my visions speak and find expression, my purpose be established, and your name be glorified.
2. I reach forward by faith to my purpose in life and destiny. I will not die until my dream and purpose are fulfilled in Jesus’s name.
3. Father, strengthen my weak faith, Don’t let my faith fail me.
4. Declare by faith the things that God will make happen in your life and destiny.
