Topic: Blessings and benefits of Fasting
Text: Matthew 17:19-21
We started considering the benefits of fasting yesterday. We shall consider other benefits of fasting. Faith, fasting and prayers are a potent combination that produces answers to every question of life.
Fasting makes you a master of all kinds. The disciples were unable to cast out the demons because they lacked faith. Faith puts you in command. Faith enables you to command the mountain and ask it to depart. The presence of faith makes nothing impossible. Faith is active and must be combined with the word of God, prayers and fasting. Without prayer and fasting, you can only be a master of some kind. Matthew 17:16, the inability to fast and pray results in impossible experiences.
Fasting unleashes divine favour: Esther 4:16. Esther was willing to take the risk of appearing before the king but not without fasting and prayer. Esther instructed the children of Israel to go on a fast and she did the same with her maids. The outcome of their prayers and fasting can be seen in Esther 5:3, she found favour before the king. If you want favour from a man, don’t approach the man first, rather go before the maker of the man in
prayer and fasting first before you stand before the man.
Prayer Focus
Father, make me master of all kinds, let situations, demons and powers submit themselves to me through
the greatness of your power.
Father, surround me with your favour., wear me the garment of favour. Envelope me with your favour and
let me enjoy the favour of men.
CONFESSION
I am divinely enabled and empowered to subdue situations and circumstances, to bind and cast out devils in the
name of Jesus. I operate in divine authority and divine power. Strangers and demons submit themselves to me. They
obey my voice and submit themselves to me in the name of Jesus. I am put in charge and in command over the
powers of the enemies. I operate in divine favour, because I enjoy God’s favour, men will favour me wherever I turn
to. I will not lack favour and God’s name will be honoured in my life.
