Nehemiah had a situation and he fasted and prayed. The king granted the request to Nehemiah after he had fasted and prayed. Favour can only be unleashed upon a man if he waits on the Lord for his desires. Nehemiah while carrying out his chores as the King’s cupbearer was sad, his role required him to be cheerful or stand the risk of losing his job but the king noticed his countenance and he found favour before the king who gave him a blank cheque to fill in his request and He was granted his request according to the good hand of the Lord that was upon him (Nehemiah). To experience the good hand of the Lord upon your life, you must be able to wait on the Lord in prayer and fasting. You will enjoy the favour of men because the favour of God is upon you. Nehemiah was so favoured that he set the time he wanted for the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, he was also granted support as he requested. Fasting put Nehemiah in command. The King sat on the throne, but Nehemiah gave the dictates of his terms. This was achievable because he (Nehemiah) had stood in the place of prayer and fasting.Always wait on God prior to his appearance before man. A brother presented his final year project before his lecturer who looked at the project and condemned it. This was a few days to final submission and the brother wept, then prayed and waited in fasting for 3 days. He took the same project back to the supervisor who looked at it and asked why he initially tendered a useless report when he could have done something as excellent as the second one he presented, mind you, nothing changed, it was the same project he submitted previously. Fasting and prayers changes situations.
