Topic: Show me a token for Good
Text: Psalm 86:17
A token is evidence, proof, or sign of something. The Psalmist prayed for a token of God’s goodness. Goodness here means favour, mercy or blessings. You need to see the works and manifestations of God in your life at intervals. This token is a sign of God’s approval. The Contemporary English Version says, show that you approve of me. There are things God will need to do in your life to show He approves of you, to show His favour over you to indicate as evidence of His mercy upon your life and destiny.
This is important because of your haters and enemies especially those who smile at you but do not want you to be better than them. Only a broken person whom God has dealt with will want his friend to be better without feeling jealous or envious of him. God needs to show you His token for good so that these haters will see the works and manifestations of His hands in your life and be ashamed. I declare that those who do not expect you to succeed will fail. They will see your results and God’s goodness and be ashamed. They will see the hand of God in your life, they will see His favour in your life. The good things they do not want to see in your life will manifest. They do not expect to see you break through but you will.
You will have a token of God’s goodness because you have been helped by God. God will help you. Everyone needs God’s help to become the man God has destined him to be. The Psalmist recounts For thou shall increase my greatness and comfort me on every side. God will increase your greatness and comfort you on every side. Job 8:22. They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; And the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought. Your enemies will be thoroughly discredited and put to shame. the negative expectations of people concerning you will not stand but fail woefully.
Acts 12:11: And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
The Jews expected nothing but death for Peter. James had been killed and they expected Peter to be killed in like manner. But God frustrated their plans and expectations and brought Peter out alive. God will send His angels to you and you will be rescued from the negative expectations of the people. You will not fail or fall as predicted and anticipated. those who want you dead will die in your stead. God will help you and send helpers and angels of help and open doors to you. God will comfort you. Comfort speaks of satisfaction therefore God will satisfy you. You enter into a dimension of God’s help for great results. Help that will confound and put the enemies of your destiny to shame.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, show me an evidence of your mercy. Show me a token for good.
2. Father, give me the result that will clothe my enemies with shame.
3. Father, Be my help and comfort me on every side. Increase my greatness.
