Topic: This thing (Dream) is gone from me
Text: Daniel 2:5

The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

King Nebuchadnezzar made a simple sentence we need to pay attention to and consider. “The thing is gone from me”. He was referring to his dream. A dream is the advanced picture of a man’s future. The inner picture of your actual future. Your dream is a picture of your destination in life. The things revealed to you by God about your life. Your dream must not be gone from you. When a man loses his dream, he has nothing to pursue or motivate him in life. Such a man surrenders to fate. Nebuchadnezzar forgot his dream. A dream forgotten cannot be interpreted. The butler told Joseph his dream and Joseph offered the interpretation. There are people sent by God to help you interpret your dream in life. If you forget your dream, no one will help you interpret it because there is no dream for them to interpret. Joseph was sent to Pharoah to interpret his dream which Joseph did because there was a dream. You must have a clear picture of your dream for someone to be able to interpret it for you. Your vision must be clear, the assignment must be well-known. this is why God said to Habakkuk, “Write the vision, Make it plain upon tables that he may run that reads it”. You need to make your vision plain so interpreters can help you interpret it accurately. You need clarity for your dream so that help can come for you. If you do not know where you are going, how can anyone help you get there?

What dream do you have? I hope it is not gone from you. When King Nebuchadnezzar lost his dream, he brought problems upon himself and the wise men around him. An unclear dream can never be interpreted by the people surrounding you. No one can know your dream for you. It is your responsibility to know and understand what God has called you to do and then you can receive help along the line of your dream. Do not let your dream go from you. Genesis 37:5-9. Certain things happened to Joseph that could have made him lose his dream. He had a dream he shared with his brothers who hated him as a result of his dream but the hatred did not stop him from dreaming again. He had a bigger dream afterward. His brothers took away his coat of many colours from him but he did not allow his dream to go from him. They conspired against him, threw him into the pit, he was sold into slavery, and endured a trek to Egypt yet he held on to his dream. He became a houseboy in the house of Potiphar. He had a dream of greatness, dominion, and glory but found himself doing chores in Potiphar’s house. He did not allow his dream to be taken from him. He was enticed by Potiphar’s wife to sin, but he did not allow sin to take his dream from him. He was lied against and found himself locked up in prison for many years yet he did not allow the circumstances of imprisonment to take his dream away from him. Your dream must not be gone from you. Once a man’s dream is gone from him, his life is finished. A man without a dream merely exists.

Do not let anything take away your dream. Hold on to your dreams irrespective of what may be happening or not happening around you. The dream will speak eloquently and be fulfilled if you do not give up. Robert Schuller said, “Tough times never last, tough people do”. Bear this in mind, Your dream can never be interpreted if you don’t know the dream. Don’t forget or forego your dream. Interpreters and helpers are coming and when they find you, ensure your dream is intact. It’s time to recall your dream. It’s time to get back your dream. It’s time to dream again You have the responsibility to dream again. Do not let happenstances hinder you from dreaming again. Everyone was born naked but not empty. You were born loaded and that’s why you came with clenched fists, holding your dreams in your hands. Don’t let it go from you. If it has gone from you, go get back your dream. Dream again.
