Topic: Keys to obtaining the promises of God
Text: 2 Peter 1:2-4
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
We established that we obtain God’s promises by the key of obedience. If you’re willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land. You can obtain from God by faith. Faith is the currency of exchange in God’s kingdom. It’s a spiritual legal tender. Without Faith, it is impossible to please God and those who will come to Him must believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Grace and favour are required to become anything in life and destiny.
Prayers: Daniel 9:2-4,20-23
There’s nothing prayer can’t deliver to you. Prayers open and close doors. Prayer is vital, Prayers heal the sick and deliver the oppressed. Prayers brought Peter out of the prison when Herod held him in person with the intention to kill him as he killed James. The church raised prayers and supplication for Peter and he was delivered by the angel of the Lord in response to prayers of the Saints. This happened the same night he should have been killed. Acts 16:25. Paul and Silas found themselves in the Philippian jail. They prayed and sang praises to God, the prisoners heard them, the foundations of the prison shook and everyone’s chain fell off in response to prayers. Increase your prayer life to increase your power quotient. Prayer is in the power equation. Wait on God in fasting and in prayers. Matthew 7:7-8. It’s important to seek God in prayers. It’s important to war with prophecies and not sleep over them. Prayer releases hanging promises and prophecies and brings them to pass. Luke 18:1. Jesus told his disciples that men ought always to pray and not to faint. Paul admonished believers in his epistles to the Thessalonians to pray without ceasing. Don’t be weary or too tired to pray. Prayer will bring about the performance and delivery of God’s promises to you.

God said he had given the possession of Kings to the hands of the children of Israel but they must take steps to possess the land. If you fold your hands with the expectation of promises and prophecies to self-fulfill themselves, you are self-deluded and wasting your time. Desires and intentions without actions will end in frustration. Act out your faith. Faith that believes takes steps to actualise its expectations. Rise by faith and take delivery of your expectations. You have a responsibility to rise and take possession of whatever God has made available by way of promises or prophecies. Nothing happens in the life of a man who folds his hands. Put your hands to work. Write that letter, and submit that application. Hebrews 6:12. Don’t be slothful. There is no food for a lazy man. Romans 12:11.
Prayer Focus
1. I take delivery of my promises, prophecies, and word in the name of Jesus.
2. Father, I receive by the help of the Holy Spirit, the steps and directions to take delivery of my miracles in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, I begin to take steps now, I arise, I contend and possess my miracles, my blessings, and desires in the name of Jesus.
