Topic: Waiting on the Lord
Text: Micah 7:7

Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

The waiting period is usually a tough season in the lives of people. Imagine a young lady who got married and is waiting several years for the fruit of the womb. Those who wait encounter a lot of challenges and insults. When waiting for a promotion in an organization, there may be people who come in after you and were promoted over and above you. Hope becomes deferred and the heart becomes sick when a man waits. Waiting could cause the spirit and heart of a man to become saddened and broken. Very few waiting people carry themselves with grace and confidence in God. No matter how strong, bold, or confident a man is in the period of waiting, in his alone time, he ruminates over a lot of things and the devil brings a lot of suggestions to him. Thoughts of compromise declined previously begins to play on their minds.

God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man to repent. You must have the understanding and confidence that God will hear you, just like the Prophet Micah in the text did. Wait on God and He’ll come through for you in the name of Jesus. Job 14:14,  wait for your change, it will come, and you will not waste in your wait. Do not be in a hurry. Wait on, with, and for God, when He comes through for you, there will be a turnaround in your life and everyone will turn to celebrate you

The are certain things you must not allow the enemy to take from you while you wait.
Joy: never allow the enemy to plunder your joy. Isaiah 12:3. A man’s joy can be stolen by the enemy in his season of waiting. Don’t allow the enemy to tamper with your joy. Keep your joy intact. Be joyful always. Rejoice in the Lord always. Be thankful to God at all times. Carry the joy of the Lord on your face, in your heart. Exude and manifest joy in your wait.

Faith: don’t allow your faith to wane. Don’t give up, have faith in God. Don’t let your faith diminish because it’s impossible to please God without faith and those who will come to God must believe that He is a rewarder of those who seek him diligently. The enemy’s agenda is to weaken your faith necessary to take delivery of the promises of God for your life. Abraham did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith giving glory to God. Remain strong in faith like Abraham regardless of how long you have waited. Do not entertain doubt. Don’t allow the devil to tamper with your faith

Peace: this is one of the major things the enemy tampers with in the life of a waiting man. Be at peace. Acquaint yourself with God and be at peace. Don’t fret over what you can’t control. Don’t fidget over what you can’t handle. Leave it in the hands of God. Don’t allow worry and anxiety to destroy you. Philippians 4:6  encourages you to be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, to make your requests known to God. Keep your peace intact.

Song: keep singing the praises and glory of the Almighty God. Don’t allow the enemy to take your song of praise from your mouth. Psalm 137:1-4. Sing the Lord’s song in a strange land, situation. Sing the Lord’s song in your trouble time, sing in your night season because there’s a joy coming for you in the morning. Don’t behave like the children of Israel at Babylon who hung their harps and were weeping. Don’t hang your harp. Don’t hang your instrument of music. Don’t stop praising God. Understand the sovereignty of God that He remains God whether or not He grants your petitions.

Prayer Focus
1. Father, come around quickly for me and help me. Don’t let my faith fail.
2. Father, Make haste to help me, and don’t let my enemies mock me.

Declare: I have faith in God, I am unwavering in my faith. I refuse to stagger at the promise of God through unbelief. I am strong in faith giving glory to God, I will not stop singing the praise of the Almighty God. The enemy will not tamper with my joy. I will not give up my joy, my peace will not be taken from me. I’ll hold on to God, I’ll wait patiently for my God. The Lord will arise for my sake. He’ll come quickly and help me. His name will be glorified in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
