Topic: Praise
Text: Psalm 67:5-7

Let the people praise thee, O God; Let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; And God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

The subject and act of praise cannot be over-emphasized because it is the habitation of God. God delights in the praise of His people. He wants you to acknowledge and appreciate him all the time for His goodness over your life, family, and endeavours. God awaits your praise. Praise waits for you in Zion is what the scriptures say and God expects praise to ooze out of your life given the numerous glorious things He has done in your life, the battles He has fought in your life. Praise is a major key to obtaining God’s promises for your life. You must be a man who reveres, eulogize, acknowledge, and worship God always. Praise is critical and essential to obtain the blessings and promises of God. Praise is what to do when you don’t know what to do. 2nd Chronicles 20, Jehoshaphat and the children of Israel were confused because they were faced with soldiers and armies who were bigger and stronger than them. A prophecy came for them to praise God in their confusion so they appointed singers to praise God. Amid their praise, God set an ambushment against their enemies. The enemies destroyed themselves against themselves.

God awaits your praise to move in action on your behalf. When praises go up, blessings come down from God. Learn to praise him at all times. The earth holds lots of increases, harvests, and blessings but the earth will only yield these to a man who praises God. Praise is a major key that can open up the heavens over a man. When Jesus went to the tomb of Lazarus, He gave thanks. Thanksgiving is a form of praise. Heaven opened, the grave of Lazarus opened and the dead came out of the grave because Jesus praised. When Jesus was going to feed 5000 men excluding women and children with insufficient resources, five loaves of bread, and 2 fishes, He lifted His voice in gratitude. Praise multiplies resources. Insufficient resources become more than enough when you praise God.

Praise is a vital key to victory in life. Jehoshaphat became victorious because of the key of praise and thanksgiving. Acts 16:25-26;  Paul and Silas praised God in their midnight hour and this led to their freedom and that of other prisoners as well. Learn to praise God in convenience and inconvenience. Psalm 30:5, why weep when you’re sure that joy will come in the morning and there’s no night without a morning? There’s going to be the dawn of a new day. I’d rather praise in the night season to get Heaven’s attention soon enough. Praise is a powerful tool in the hands of a believer. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalm 34:1; let the praise of the Almighty continually be in your mouth. The praise of God is a double-edged sword in the hands of a believer. Psalm 149:6, Let’s learn to praise God at all times, for the blessings received and for those on the way. Praise Him for who He is. Praise Him at all times. Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow. The songwriter said, “I will not be silent, I will always worship You, as long as I am breathing, I will always worship You”. That should be your attitude. Praise God at all times. It takes faith to praise God in all situations, let your faith be strong enough to praise God in all situations. Like Horatio Spafford, “It is well with my soul” even in an overwhelming flood. Praise is a way to obtain the blessings and promises of the Almighty.
