Topic: The Prayer and Fasting Dynamite
Text: Isaiah 58:6-14, Matthew 17:19-21
There is a kind that does not go except for prayer and fasting, a kind of problem that cannot be resolved, a kind of demon that will not be cast out except by prayer and fasting.
Fasting makes you a master of all kinds. The disciples could not cast out the demon in the little boy because of their unbelief and because they weren’t fasting. The Pharisees had previously accused them of not fasting like their disciples and John’s disciples. Jesus defended the disciples stating that there was no need for them to fast since he was still around. This however affected them and they couldn’t cast out the demon brought before them. Fasting makes you a master of all kinds. Paul admonished that God does miracles according to the power available in our lives, Ephesians 3:20. This is why you must build spiritual strength and stamina.
Fasting unleashes divine favour: Esther 4:16, Esther instructed the Jews to pray and fast on her behalf for 3 days and she found favour before the King when she stood before him though she went contrary to the law. Nehemiah also obtained favour from the King.
Fasting averts evil and delivers from Satanic ambushment, Esther 7:10. The outcome of Esther’s fast was the hanging of Haman on the gallows he prepared for Mordecai. May you be delivered from every satanic ambush and may evil be averted over your life and family.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, make me master of all kinds as I wait on you in prayer and fasting, let me not be disabled from any spiritual responsibility.
2. Father, let there be a release of your favour upon my life and destiny in the name of Jesus
3. Father, avert every form of evil plotted by my enemies against me and all that concerns me in the name of Jesus
