Topic: Strength For the Journey
Text: 1 Kings 19:4-8
The journey of each successive year is always great for an individual to embark on in the energy of his strength or power alone. Elijah was to go on a journey to the mountain of God where he was going to have an encounter with God but he needed strength to embark on that journey. He couldn’t have done it in the energy of his strength. As a matter of fact, at this point, Elijah had lost all zest he had, he had lost all zeal. He was despondent and suicidal. No matter what you’re going through in life, don’t be despaired of life. Suicide is not an option. Always remind yourself that no matter what you’re going through, you are better than your father. The Angel of God came to feed him. He was fed with the food from heaven, the food of angels and the Bible says he arose, he ate and drank, and he went in the strength of that food 40 days and 40 nights. You also need to eat the food of angels, spiritual food for your journey to be successful. Your journey in life is too great to be embarked on in your strength or the strength of the flesh. You need the strength of the Almighty to go through this journey, and may the Lord give you strength in the name of Jesus. now. Strength is needed for the journey because there are so many challenges. You need the strength of God to overcome the challenges, cross the hurdles, subdue all opposition, and get to where you are going. You also need strength to go beyond all kinds of limits. You need the power of God to go beyond everything that intends to limit your achievement and accomplishment in life and destiny.
You must receive this power so you can be like Joseph, a fruitful bough whose branches run over the wall. There are people out there who want to shoot down your style. They intend to bring down your glory, but you must be strong. You must have enough strength to be able to push on and press on. You need strength for this journey to stand. God Intends for you to stand on your feet and not be a liability to anyone. So you need the strength of God to be able to stand firm, straight, tall, and for long. May the Lord give you this power to be able to stand in the name of Jesus. Acts 3:1, To run and to leap into your destiny, you need the strength of God and it is my prayer that the Lord will empower you for this journey. This journey will not be too great for you. The strength of God will make it an easy journey in the precious name of Jesus. This year, you will get to where you are going in the name of Jesus. Heaven will open upon you in the name of Jesus. You need this strength to get to where you are going.
You also need the strength and the power of God for a life of impact. You need to make an impact positively on your world and environment. You must pay any price under God to get the power that is needed for you to run your race. Don’t look for power outside of God, don’t look for power from strange places. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High, shall abide under the shadows of the Almighty. Abide under the shadow of the almighty like Elijah. Stay on God. Wait for God. Let the food from heaven be fed to you. Be energized with the food from heaven
Prayers
1. Father empower me afresh for the journey of this year. I receive the power to overcome challenges, and to cross all hurdles. To overcome all oppositions, to break all barriers in the name of Jesus,
2. Father, I receive the power and strength to stand. I will stand upon my feet. I will stand firm. I will stand straight. I will stand tall. I will stand for long. I receive the power to soar into my destiny in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, let everyone shooting evil arrows into my life, family, ministry, and business, be consumed by your fire
4. Father. Let my bow abide in strength. Let the activities of the archers concerning me and my family fail in the name of Jesus.
