Topic: Strength for the journey ‘Contd
Text: 1 Kings 19: 4-8
Elijah was fed by the angel. He ate bread and water and went on the strength of that food, a 40-day journey. God is the eternal source of power and the giver of strength. Isaiah 40:29, But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as Eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. It is important, therefore, if you are going to tap from the power of God to wait on God. Waiting on God, dedicating a time, a place, and a season to wait on God is very essential to drawing strength. Some things drain strength from us. Strength is drained by the activities of your office, an unfriendly boss or colleague. Unfortunately, some people return home to a very hostile environment and spouse, and so their strength is drained. Many challenges and oppositions drain strength. Elijah’s strength was drained because of the information he heard, he needed to receive strength. He waited on God under that juniper tree and received strength.
Waiting on God entails daily feeding on the word of God and prayer. The word of God is the bread of life. It is vital to eat the word of God every day and to drink the water of life, which is the word of God. Acts 6:4, We will give ourselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the word. If you are prayerless, you will be powerless. If your word base is not strong, your success rate will be low because your word base determines your success rate. Psalm 122, we also draw strength from the house of God. The primary purpose of going into the House of God is to draw strength. David was glad when they said come let us go into the House of the Lord. Psalm 84:7, we go to the House of God to build strength and increase in spiritual stamina and power. Our primary attention is on the word of God and prayers at the House of God. Our gaze is on God, not on your pastor, not on the Prophet. Jude 1:20, you draw strength from God as you pray in the Holy Ghost.
I pray this first working day of the week, amazing doors will open for you in the name of Jesus, I command heaven over your life and over your destiny to open for you. By the power of the Lord, mountains melt before you, valleys are filled before you, and the power of God energizes you to scale all hurdles, and break every barrier in the name of Jesus. I pray that the power of God will be available for you to cross every Red Sea, and run over every Jordan. You will enjoy uncommon favor in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. No negative or diabolical power will overcome you today or this year, in the name of Jesus you will subdue all forces, all powers that may want to come against you. You will put them down completely under the soles of your feet. The Lord will subdue your enemies before you in the name of Jesus. The power of God will be available to compel your enemies to submit unto you through the greatness of God’s power at work in your life, I declare according to the Word of God that you will be satisfied early this year because you have awoken. All your arrears of blessings will come to you this week. Good things shall be brought to you and the name of the Lord shall be glorified. You are building up strength as you study the word of God. Strength will be injected into you as you bow your head to pray. Strength will be injected into you as you appear in the presence of God. You will receive strength from every channel, and God will build your strength. This year, strength will not fail you. Your health will not fail you, and the Lord’s name will be glorified in your life. You will operate in power. You will operate in wisdom. You will operate in Glory in the name of Jesus. Amen.
