Topic: Endurance
Text: Hebrews 12:1-2
Every man of destiny must possess the virtue of endurance. Men of Faith recorded in Hebrews 11 endured many things to get to their destination in glory. Some were even killed for their faith in God. There are weights and sins in life that entangle us. These weights slow us down and hinder us. The sins make God turn His face from us like He did Jesus when he bore our sins on the cross. We have the responsibility to lay them aside and run with patience/endurance. We must be able to endure the pain, tribulation, trial, suffering, challenges, insufficiencies, we must stand firm, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. We must not give up or cave in, Proverbs 24:10. If you give up in adversity, your strength is small. Jesus faced so many things but he endured all including the cross for the joy set ahead of him. He looked forward to the glory ahead. You must not give in or compromise your Faith in God. Don’t bow to the golden image of pressure and money for survival. Endurance took Jesus to the cross and brought him out of the grave. He endured the pain because of what he had to achieve for mankind.
We have been instructed to look up to Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith. We must endure the cross as Jesus did for the Joy and glory set before us. You must have a vision, joy, glory, or goal set before you. This gives you the strength and stamina to keep pressing on. The quality of your personality and strength of your character are demonstrated during a crisis. Solomon’s character and personality couldn’t be built because he didn’t face challenges like his father David. Whatever you’re facing is part of the raw material God needs to build a powerful character in you.
Prayers
1. Father, I fix my gaze on Christ Jesus, I receive the strength and stamina to press on in the face of adversity and challenges of the hour. I will overcome and not be overwhelmed.
2. Father, let your grace take me beyond the challenges of this present time. Let your grace take me to my place in glory, greatness, and destiny
3. I receive the grace to press on and endure and arrive at my place by the power of your spirit
