Topic: Sleeping in the storm
Text: Mark 4:35-40
A storm is a negative weather condition with rain, wind and other contrary elements that violently rages against a life, a business, a family or a destiny. Whatever attacks you negatively is a storm. A storm slows down a man especially if it cannot totally stop the man. There will always be a Jordan to cross whenever there is a Canaan to possess. You cannot cross your Jordan without a storm. Storms of life are common and have the tendency to disrupt the peace of a believer. There can be no progress without peace. Jesus slept in the storm. What is the response of men to storms?
Men fret rather than rest. God wants you to rest in the storm. He wants you to sleep in the storm. People get depressed in their storm. 2 Corinthians 1:8. Men can run away from the storm. Whatever you run away from has control over you. There are others who face the storm and fight it. We can also have peace like Jesus in our storm. We are expected to rest and not fret.
Requirements for sleeping in the storm.
1. Have Jesus in your life. Jesus being in your life helps you sleep in your storm. You can’t have peace if you do not know the Prince of Peace. Do not be a nominal Christian. Luke 21:13, bear in mind that with Jesus in your life, your storms will turn to testimonies regardless of the magnitude or fierceness. Don’t just be a member of a church, be a part of the body of Christ. Be transformed and regenerated through the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross, this gives you peace. Initiation into the body or kingdom of Christ comes from accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior thereby granting you access into the characteristics of the kingdom of God ie righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost, Romans 14:17.
Prayers
1. Prince of Peace, let you peace reign supreme in my life. Keep me in perfect peace.
2. I speak to every storm raging against my life and destiny, Peace be still. I silence you storm in the name of Jesus.
3. I receive the grace to cross every Jordan and to possess my Canaan. Every obstacle on my path be removed in Jesus name.
4. I overcome every storm, challenges in this week, morning stops me this week in the
name of Jesus.
