Topic: God’s covenant of success

God’s covenant of success is premised on 3 major principles: wisdom, and discipline.

• Diligence: Proverbs 22:29, It takes diligence to sit with the book of the law to meditate in the book of the law day and night and it takes diligence to observe to do all that is written in the book. It takes diligence to identify them and do them. Only a diligent man will excel, he will stand before kings and men of repute. Hard work is another word that can be used in place of diligence. Success does not come to lazy people. A wise man once said, “Laziness travels so slowly that poverty easily catches up with him”. Lazy people will be under tribute and remain slaves to the diligent. Do not entertain laziness and be diligent in all you do. Do your work will all your strength and with all your might to get your desired results. Romans 12: 11, You must not lag in diligence. It is expedient to do all you do with all your strength.

Indices of Diligence

• Sitting down to work: invest the required number of work into your business. Sit down to work and don’t be lazy.
• Put in your best: working at your optimal best and putting in your best to all commitments is essential. Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might.
• Be up to date: Diligence connotes keeping abreast of facts in your chosen field of career. You cannot afford to use yesterday’s method for today’s work in remain in business tomorrow. Diligence connotes continual development.

It is a sign of laziness to sleep when you should be working. Excess sleep is also a sign of laziness. A little sleep, a little slumber invites poverty into a man’s life. Talking when you should be working is also a sign of laziness. Sit with your work. There are a lot of lazy believers. A lazy man finds it difficult to sit with the word of God so he cannot bring out principles that will aid his success out of the word of God. Wisdom is available in God’s word. Success is the application of available wisdom and it takes diligence to search it out. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing but the honour of kings to search it out.  Hard work refines and does not kill. Wisdom, discipline, and diligence guarantee the success of a man.

Prayer Focus

• I break myself free from every hold of laziness and slothfulness. I destroy the hold and grip in the mighty name of Jesus.
• Father, I receive the grace and stamina to put in my best in all I do, to be diligent, and to work hard in all I do in the mighty name of Jesus.
• Father, let my profiting and success appear to all to the glory of your name.
• Father, let my results in life be greater than the authority of my name and reputation in the name of Jesus
