Topic: Importance of Favour
Text: Ecclesiastes 9:11
Favour is God’s prerogative, it is the divine help of God. Favour makes you preferred by God and men. Favour is the vehicle that takes a man to destiny without struggles. Favour is a key for divine preference.
1. The best is not always given to the best but to the favoured. Luke 2:52, favour is a necessity for success and excellence. You need the favour of God and men just like Jesus.
2. You cannot make it alone. Your ability is not enough to get you there or get things done. Favour is an unmerited gift from God. Favour is not fair. Favour qualifies the unqualified.
3. A man who lacks favour continues to labour. The Israelites were slaves to the Egyptians for 430 years without pay. Exodus 3:21, their labour of 430 years was paid in one day of favour. They spoiled the Egyptians. One day of favour terminates several years of labour. Exodus 12:35-36. You need Favour for labour to cease.
Prayers
1. Oh Lord, send me help from above for vain is the help of man.
2. Father, I cannot make it alone, help me Oh God by your favour. My ability is futile.
3. Father, let me increase in favour with God and with men.
4. Father, let one day of favour terminates my age long struggles and labour
